Hi! Thanks for picking up a Kettle & Hoop kit. This page walks you through it one short step at a time. Video lessons are coming soon; until then, follow the printed guide in your kit.
1. Unbox and check
Lay everything out and compare it with the "What's in the box" list on your kit's product page. If anything is missing or damaged, email ilan@kettleandhoop.shop within 30 days and we'll make it right.
2. Set up the hoop
Loosen the screw, centre the fabric, and tighten until it's drum-tight. (Video coming soon)
3. Separate and thread
Split the floss into the number of strands your guide shows, thread the needle, and start with or without a knot. (Video coming soon)
4. Your first 5 stitches
Running stitch, backstitch, split stitch, stem stitch and satin stitch. (Videos coming soon)
5. Follow the colour key
Your printed guide shows which thread colour goes where. Work one colour at a time.
6. Finishing
Follow your guide's finishing steps for the printed lines, then back and frame the piece in the hoop. (Video coming soon)
7. Stuck? Common fixes
- Tangles: use shorter lengths of thread (about forearm length) and let the needle hang to untwist.
- Puckered fabric: keep the fabric drum-tight and don't pull stitches too hard.
- Running short of thread: email us and we'll help you match the colour.
8. Level up
French knots, lazy daisy and more. Try the Learn 20 Stitches set or a Pattern Refill.
9. Share your hoop
We'd love to see it. Tag your photos #kettleandhoop.
